This river is called” Boeng Braveuk “. Boeng
means a lake in English. Braveuk is a kind of white bird called a teal. It is
called Boeung because it has a round shape like a lake, but it is actually
connected to the sea. This place is rich in teal during the rainy season
of the year from May to October. This lake has a good view because the water
coconut trees, called Doeum Chak in Khmer language, surround it. Local
fishermen usually catch shrimp or lobster at night, using spears. The lake is
full of fish, encouraging the teal to feed here in the rainy season. The
fisherman said there were crocodiles here but now they have disappeared.
