This village
was just settled in 1979. It is in Chi Phat commune. It has an official name”
Kolort Village”. It consists of 151 families. All the families here are jungle
dwellers and the vast majority is peasant farmers. This village is where
villager women come to make the most delicious Loert sweets. Loert is the name
of Cambodian dessert made from ground rice, and the name of the village refers
to this. Phuom Loert means Village of Loert, this has been changed to Komlort
village.
