This waterfall is called Prek Yuon by local
people. Yuon is the informal name used for the Vietnamese. Vietnamese soldiers
were here for bolstering security between 1979 and 1989 due to the presence of
Khmer Rouge rebels. However, some villagers say Prek Yuon has had this name
since Cambodia was ruled by Colonial France. “Long time ago, a Vietnamese
family lived farming in this area,” said one villager. So this waterfall refers
to the Vietnamese.
