(Written by Ty Theavy, edited by Alex Dedman and Christopher Copeman from UK)
This village is called Deitum Neab, Deitum Neab is the low land where the water floods every year. This village homes barely 115 families. In the period of Sang Kum Reas Niyum (1954-1969) this village was called Chrang Khpuos. Presently, this village has 2 home stays available for tourists to stay at. These home stays are developed using materials provided by Trapeang Roung CBET. This village had only 18 families in 1983, along with Vietnamese troops at this time. During the Pol Pot regime the villagers here fled to Thailand, but the rest were forcibly evacuated to quarry stone in Thar Bang, 70 Kilometers away. Some people were transported by elephant, and were killed nearby. Previously, this area was covered in jungle, but is now seriously deforested.
